Paul M. Saluan, MD, is Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, with joint appointments in the Center for Sports Health and the Center for Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery. Board certified in orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine, he specializes in the care of young athletes, with expertise in arthroscopic surgery, pediatric orthopaedics, and sports injury prevention.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Saluan developed and directs the Orthopaedic Arthroscopy Skills Lab Curriculum, a pioneering training program for residents and fellows, and has contributed to the creation of a validated Pediatric Outcomes Instrument to advance outcomes research. His academic and clinical leadership extends to roles as team physician for high school, collegiate, and international athletic programs, as well as medical director for major youth sports events.

Dr. Saluan’s research interests include ACL reconstruction techniques for skeletally immature patients, cartilage and meniscus preservation, and the development of innovative arthroscopic training and assessment tools. He is a recipient of multiple teaching and clinical excellence awards, including recognition from Cleveland Clinic and Case Western Reserve University.

An active member of national and international professional societies, Dr. Saluan contributes to advancing care through his work with the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American College of Sports Medicine, and the International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society.
